My father worked at a company from April 1997 to May 2003. He resigned and didn’t work again, sadly passing away in February 2008. We claimed his Provident Fund after his death, but were unaware of the pension fund. Can my mother claim the pension from the PF department? Or can we withdraw the pension fund balance?

Under Indian law, your mother can claim the pension benefit from the company’s pension fund, if it exists, since your father was a member of the provident fund. However, the pension fund claim must be filed within a specified timeframe as per the specific pension scheme rules.
