My employer stopped paying my salary after December 2013, even though I worked for them for over 18 months as a Senior Software Engineer. I left in February 2014, but my salary, which was around ₹1.4 lakhs, is still pending, along with payments for accrued leave. I’ve contacted them about it, but haven’t received any response. What legal options do I have to get my money back?

You have the right to file a claim in a labor court seeking recovery of your pending salary and leave encashment. You can also file a complaint with the Labour Commissioner, who can initiate conciliation proceedings. The limitation period for filing such claims is generally three years from the date of the cause of action.
