My company is letting go of some teams. I have a 3-month notice period in my contract, and my manager has agreed to pay my salary over these 3 months, not all at once. However, there’s a clause (not in my contract) saying they’ll stop my salary if I find a new job or any kind of work during this time. Also, they want me to work from home during this period. I’m worried:
1. Is it legally okay for the company to pay my salary this way, or should they give me the full payment at once so I can focus on finding new opportunities?
2. If they stop paying me after a month or two, what can I do?

Indian law does not permit employers to withhold your salary based on finding new work during your notice period. They are legally obligated to pay your salary as per your contract. If they stop paying you, you can pursue legal action for breach of contract and unpaid wages.
