I’m currently working on a temporary basis in a government department. We’re trying to get this position made permanent, but the rules are unclear and higher officials aren’t cooperating. Would it be possible for me to join another government job without resigning from this one? I want to be able to return if we win the case to make this position permanent.

Under Indian law, holding two government jobs simultaneously is generally prohibited. You would need to resign from your current temporary position before joining another government job.
