I’m an assistant professor at an IIT, holding a permanent position. My department head approved my Leave Travel Concession (LTC) and the registrar issued the official memo confirming approval of both my LTC and leave. However, the Director has now asked me to justify my leave, even though it’s already approved. My travel is supposed to start in a few days, and the administration is demanding my travel plan and tickets. I’m feeling harassed as they’ve already approved my leave. What should I do?

You have a right to take your approved leave and travel. The Director cannot unilaterally revoke your approved leave and demand further justification. You should politely but firmly remind the Director of the approved leave and the registrar’s confirmation. If the harassment persists, you can escalate the issue to the IIT authorities or seek legal counsel.
