I’m a new Group C employee in an agriculture office (CAG), currently on probation. My work hours are 9:15 am to 5:45 pm, and I arrive by 9:05 am every day. However, my superiors are asking me to stay late without official notice, threatening my probation if I don’t comply. This is impacting my personal life significantly.

Your superiors cannot force you to work beyond your stipulated hours without proper notice and justification. This is a violation of your rights under the Indian Factories Act and the Shops and Establishments Act. You should raise the issue with your seniors or seek guidance from the concerned authorities.
