I’m a 26-year-old dentist. Last year in June, I partnered with a shop owner in a busy Delhi market to open a dental clinic, splitting the profits 50/50. Now, after 8 months, with the clinic thriving thanks to my expertise and reputation, the owner wants me out. He claims he’s not making enough money and will hire a cheaper dentist instead. What can I do to protect my business and livelihood?

You can approach the court seeking a partnership dissolution and accounting. You have a strong case, as you contributed significantly to the clinic’s success, and the owner’s claim of insufficient profits doesn’t automatically justify dissolving the partnership. You can also seek an injunction to prevent the owner from hiring another dentist before the partnership is dissolved.
