I worked for a small company for three months but I’m not sure if they’re officially registered. The owner only paid me one month’s salary, and it was less than what we agreed on in the contract. I’m still waiting for the remaining two months’ pay. He says he’ll pay me for the second month once he gets paid by a client. He refuses to pay for the third month, claiming there was no business that month. My job was to learn the ropes, not to bring in clients or money. What should I do now?

You can file a complaint with the Labour Commissioner or file a civil suit in a court of competent jurisdiction to recover your unpaid wages. You can also seek assistance from a legal aid organization. It is advisable to consult with a lawyer to understand your rights and options.
