I submitted my resignation from a Group A position in a central government organization on November 2nd, 2015, with a planned departure date of December 4th, 2015, to join the Indian Railways. Before leaving, I requested to retain my lien in my former organization on December 1st, 2014, but the administrative officials couldn’t decide on it. I then requested an extension for them to make a decision. However, I was verbally informed that my lien would not be granted and I would be relieved of my duties. Now, I am unsure if I can still obtain a lien and I am also concerned about being marked “off duty.” Can you clarify my situation?
