I started working at Eqestar Capital in Mumbai on November 20th, 2014, earning a monthly salary of ₹40,000. However, my salary wasn’t paid until January 5th, 2015. When I inquired about it, my employer told me to leave and promised to settle it later. It’s been over a year now, and despite repeated emails, I haven’t received my due wages. What can I do to get my salary?

Under the Payment of Wages Act, 1936, your employer is legally obligated to pay your salary within a stipulated timeframe. You can file a complaint with the Labour Commissioner or the appropriate authority in Mumbai. You can also pursue legal action in a civil court to recover your unpaid wages and damages.
