I started working as a Materials Manager for a private company in January 2013 and left in September 2016. My last salary was around ₹35,000. The company refused to pay my bonus during my final settlement. Am I entitled to a bonus? Can I claim it? Also, a colleague who worked for six years was let go the same month and was denied a bonus. What should we do about this?

Whether you are entitled to a bonus depends on your employment contract and company policy. If your contract or company policy guarantees a bonus, you can claim it. You can consult a lawyer to understand your rights and explore legal options for claiming your bonus. Since your colleague was also denied a bonus, you can consider filing a joint complaint with the labor department.
