I put in my papers on March 20th and was supposed to leave on April 27th. I changed my mind and asked to stay on April 25th, but now they’re saying I have to go anyway. I got a joining bonus that they want back because I was supposed to stay until October. I never signed anything about it, though. What are my legal options here?

Under Indian law, your employer can’t force you to leave if you gave notice and then revoked it, even if you received a joining bonus. However, they may be able to seek reimbursement for the bonus if you had a written agreement stating its conditions. Consult a lawyer to assess your specific situation and options for negotiation or legal action.
