I appeared for the Bank PO exam last year and cleared it, even got through the interview. However, when the results were announced, I was placed on the waiting list. The bank said selections would be made if vacancies arise due to non-joining of candidates or other reasons. Now, Punjab National Bank has 130 unfilled positions out of the original 830. However, they’ve informed us that they don’t need POs anymore this year and have already recruited 750 candidates for next year’s intake. Considering the previous legal battles won by candidates against banks and IBPS, what are our options? We’re about 1,000 people whose careers are at stake. Please advise us on how to proceed.

Based on past legal precedents, you have grounds to legally challenge PNB’s decision. You can approach the court, highlighting the bank’s prior commitment to fill vacancies from the waiting list and the subsequent recruitment for next year’s intake despite unfilled positions. Consider approaching the court through a collective petition, as the number of affected candidates strengthens your case.
