I accepted a job offer from a software company, but now a better opportunity has come up. The offer letter mentions my joining date, salary, and other details, but doesn’t have a separate terms and conditions section. It just has a line saying “I accept the offer and join as per the date mentioned in the letter” and space for my signature. All communication was through email. How can I politely withdraw from the first offer without any legal trouble?

Since the offer letter doesn’t explicitly mention consequences for withdrawing, you can politely inform the company of your decision to decline the offer, citing personal reasons. You can highlight your appreciation for their offer and apologize for any inconvenience caused.
