Under the Maternity Benefit Act, 1961, you are entitled to CCL for a total of 12 months during the child’s first year. The Gurgaon school’s refusal to honor your approved CCL and subsequent denials of your requests violate your legal rights. Your continued requests for leave, coupled with your child’s health concerns, should have been considered by the school principal.
