As a Director in a private limited company with a 5% stake, I’ve faced a difficult situation. My salary hasn’t been paid for over a year, and the money I invested to cover employee salaries and other expenses hasn’t been reimbursed. The majority shareholder keeps citing financial constraints. How can I get my dues settled promptly?

You have the right to pursue legal action to recover your salary and expenses. You can approach the company’s board or the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) to initiate proceedings for recovery. You can also consider seeking a winding-up order if the company is unable to pay its dues.
