My Mediclaim policy has been active since 2007. This year, I sent a cheque well before the renewal deadline, and they issued a new policy. However, after the grace period ended, they informed me the cheque bounced due to a signature mismatch, even though my bank account had sufficient funds. I suspect this was done intentionally to reject my claim as a senior citizen. My appeals have gone unanswered. What legal recourse do I have? Can you recommend a lawyer who specializes in insurance disputes?
Best Answer
You can approach the Insurance Ombudsman with your grievance. They have the authority to investigate and resolve disputes related to insurance policies. If the Ombudsman’s decision is unsatisfactory, you can pursue legal recourse in the Consumer Forum or file a lawsuit in a civil court.
