My friend, married to an Indian man in Goa, lived with him in Germany. He later used her for a visa, leading to their divorce. Despite this, she continued using her PIO card to visit India as a tourist, never working or exceeding 180 days in the country. She was unaware of the need to report her divorce or the PIO’s invalidity after it. The embassy didn’t inform her about surrendering the PIO. Now, with the PIO scheme ending, she wants a tourist visa. Worried about potential consequences from using the PIO after her divorce, she’s concerned about her tourist visa application being rejected.
