Hi, I recently completed my Master’s in the UK and am working in India now. I consulted with an immigration advisor who suggested a freelancer (who claims to be a lawyer) to help me secure a UK job interview and visa. She’s asking for ₹5 lakh, promising a full refund if unsuccessful. Should I proceed? How can I verify her credibility? What should I look for in an agreement? I’d appreciate your advice.

It’s highly advisable to be cautious. While a refund clause exists, you should verify the freelancer’s credentials with the Bar Council of India to ensure they are a legitimate lawyer. The agreement should clearly define the services offered, refund conditions, and the scope of their assistance, especially regarding visa application procedures.
