You can approach the court with a petition seeking information about your wife’s whereabouts and current marital status. You can cite your marriage certificate as proof of your marriage. You can also request the court to order your wife’s parents to provide information. It is unlikely that you will be able to obtain information about your wife’s marital status directly from the passport office.
