My husband passed away two years ago without a will. He had purchased some properties in my name before his death. He had a son from a previous marriage, who is now 30 years old. My husband’s son is now asking for a share of these properties, claiming they were his father’s. I have two daughters from my marriage to him. Can he claim a share of these properties even though they are registered in my name only?

Under Indian law, your husband’s son can claim a share of the properties as his father died intestate (without a will).
