My father passed away in 2007, leaving behind a landed property in Chennai and Bengaluru, registered in my mother’s name. We, the four brothers, agreed to an equal share of the property, with each receiving 1200 sq ft in both cities. My siblings registered their shares in Chennai and Bengaluru in 2000 and 2010, respectively. However, I’m yet to receive my share. My mother, wife, and two sons are living on the property in Bengaluru, where a two-story house stands.
Currently, I’m working in Uttar Pradesh and my siblings are threatening my family, claiming I have no rights to the property because I left Bengaluru for work. They’re even threatening my mother and harassing her to vacate the house. My siblings are also trying to manipulate her to create embarrassing situations in public, hoping to gain sympathy and force my family out.
I am seeking legal guidance and support to reach an amicable settlement, resolving this family dispute and ensuring the safety and well-being of my family.

Your siblings’ claims are baseless. Your right to inherit your father’s property is legally protected, and their threats and harassment are unacceptable. You can file a suit for partition and possession of your share in the Bengaluru property. It’s advisable to consult a lawyer immediately to protect your rights and seek a peaceful resolution.
