My sister had a child with a man 10 years ago, but they weren’t married. After their daughter was born, he left them. When enrolling her daughter in school, she used a fake name for the father on the admission form because she didn’t want to use the name of the man who abandoned them. Recently, my sister got legally married and is moving with her husband. Now, she wants to change the father’s name on her daughter’s transfer certificate but has no paperwork for the fake name she used. What legal options are available to change the father’s name on her daughter’s transfer certificate at her current school?
