My relative’s father is a Hindu from the SC category, and his mother is a Christian, also from the SC category. He was raised as a Christian and his birth certificate lists him as Hindu SC. He recently got a job in a government organisation through the general category, on merit, without any SC reservation benefits. Now, he’s thinking of formally converting to Christianity. Would this affect his job in any way?

No, converting to Christianity will not affect his government job. The government recognizes his existing SC status based on his birth certificate, and this status is not dependent on his religious beliefs. Furthermore, he secured the job on merit through the general category, not through any reservation benefits.
