My father passed away six years ago, and I paid stamp duty on our family property back then. Should I register the property now? If so, do I need to register it with the BMC, the society, or both? Is the old stamp duty still valid? And, should I register the property at today’s market value or the price it was purchased at?

You should register the property in your name now, as the old stamp duty is likely no longer valid. You need to register it with the BMC and the society, as both authorities have separate registration requirements. The registration should be done at today’s market value, not the purchase price.
