My dad was a government employee in a lower grade but recently got promoted to a higher position. His income is above 6 lakhs per year. Can I still get a non-creamy layer certificate even though he lives separately? My mom’s income is lower, can I use that to apply for the certificate?

Even though your father lives separately and has an income above 6 lakhs per year, you may not be eligible for a non-creamy layer certificate. The income of your parents is considered collectively, regardless of their living arrangements. Your mother’s lower income cannot be used to determine your eligibility for the certificate.
