Is it possible to build a home on forest land in India? If I’ve already built a house on forest land, could the Forest Department take legal action against me?

Building a home on forest land in India is illegal as it is prohibited under the Forest Act, 1927. Yes, the Forest Department can take legal action against you, including demolition of the structure, fines, and even imprisonment.
