I’m a doctor, having completed my MBBS in Andhra Pradesh. My family moved to Odisha in 1989 and I’ve had my voter ID and Aadhaar card there ever since. As a hosteller throughout school and college, I couldn’t get a permanent residence proof in AP. Can I apply for an Odisha domicile certificate? Would it be legally valid?
The NEET PG application asks about eligibility based on parent’s service. My father was a central government employee until 2002, when his company became private. Please advise, I’m in a bit of a bind. Thank you!

Based on your situation, you have a strong claim for an Odisha domicile certificate. Continuous residence in Odisha since 1989, coupled with voter ID and Aadhaar card, fulfills the residency criteria. Regarding your father’s service, the fact that he was a central government employee until 2002 is a relevant factor, but his company becoming private later does not negate his previous service.
