I was wrongly accused of giving a fake mutual fund statement to the police. I was confused during questioning and ended up saying yes even though I didn’t understand what they were asking. I spent three days in jail and was released on bail. After five months, they filed charges and I received a court summons for March 18th. What if I can’t make it to court that day? How can I prove I never provided a fake statement and didn’t receive any money from the customer?

You need to inform the court immediately about your inability to attend on March 18th. You can apply for an adjournment and explain the reason for your absence. To prove your innocence, you can submit documentary evidence like your genuine mutual fund statements and gather witness testimonies to support your claim.
