My wife left home just a week after our marriage, claiming I couldn’t fulfill her needs and that my family is too chaotic. She says I don’t give her enough time, leaving early for work and returning late. We’ve been married for a year now, and I’ve been trying to get her back through her parents but they refuse. She won’t even speak to me. They say she doesn’t want anything to do with me anymore. I’ve had medical tests and they confirm I’m capable. What can I do to protect myself from false accusations and how can I get a divorce?

Indian law allows for divorce on grounds of desertion, but it requires a period of two years of continuous desertion. You can file for divorce based on her desertion after completing this period. Since your wife’s accusations are unsubstantiated and you have medical proof, you can use this to counter any potential false accusations in court.
