My wife and I filed for a mutual divorce in February 2017. The court hearing was in August 2017, and we agreed that I could talk to our children and would pay ₹5,000 per month for each of them. However, she’s now refusing me access to them, moved house, and I was forced out of our home. I’ve already paid ₹10,000 for February and March. Do I need to keep paying child support before the divorce is finalized, or can I start after the court grants the divorce?

Under Indian law, child support is generally considered a separate issue from the divorce itself. Therefore, you likely need to continue paying child support even though the divorce is not finalized. However, you can approach the court to seek clarification on your specific situation and potentially revise the support arrangement.
