My wife and I are going through a mutual consent divorce, and the court gave us a six-month cooling period. This period is about to end, but I’d like to try and reconcile with my wife. Is it possible to get an extension of one or two months to see if we can work things out?

Under the Hindu Marriage Act, you can request an extension of the cooling-off period from the court. However, it’s up to the court’s discretion to grant it, and they will consider the sincerity of your reconciliation efforts and the overall circumstances of your case.
