My sister-in-law is trying to throw me out of the house using a document she claims is my mother-in-law’s will. It’s not registered, and it says everything is hers. My husband and his sister seem to be working together to get me out. He’s even left the house saying it’s not his anymore. He has a daughter from his first marriage and says he doesn’t want to live with me. I have no parents or family to rely on. I’m not working, and a few kind neighbors and relatives are helping me with the basics. What can I do?

Without a registered will, your sister-in-law’s claim is weak. You can challenge it in court, especially as your husband’s absence and lack of support could be construed as abandonment. Seek legal advice immediately to understand your rights and options. You can also consider approaching women’s rights organizations for support.
