My sister got married in May 2015 through an arranged match. Her husband works in Nanded but refuses to take her there. He also forbids her from working. He has terrible habits like drinking, chewing tobacco, and bad temper, which weren’t revealed before the marriage. They fight constantly, and he lied about his age; he’s 11 years older than her. What should she do?

Your sister can file a case for divorce under the grounds of cruelty, deception, and denial of conjugal rights. She can also seek maintenance and a share of her husband’s property. She should consult a lawyer to understand her legal options and proceed accordingly.
