My husband secretly married another woman in 2009, even though we already had two children together. His family knows about this, but they’re not helping me. After I gave birth to our second child, he didn’t even come to see me. When I returned home ten months later, he was cold and distant. Now, this other woman has two children of her own, and he still refuses to acknowledge her or his responsibility. He claims he’s innocent and demands proof. He constantly moves houses with her, leaving me and our children in limbo. I’m a B.Tech graduate but haven’t been able to find a job. He refuses to help financially, insisting on getting a government job. What can I do for my children and myself in this situation?

Your husband’s bigamy is a criminal offense under the Indian Penal Code. You can file a police complaint and seek legal action against him for bigamy, adultery, and neglect of family responsibilities. You can also seek maintenance for yourself and your children through a divorce petition.
