My husband is refusing to pay the Rs. 12,000 maintenance order from the court, and has only offered Rs. 3,000. Should I challenge this in the High Court, or can I do it in the Family Court in my town? I’m getting conflicting advice, so I need clear guidance.

You can challenge your husband’s reduced payment offer in the Family Court where the original maintenance order was issued. The High Court can also hear the matter, but it’s usually preferred to first exhaust the remedies within the lower court.
