My husband filed a false case against me and my family under Section 420 of the IPC, claiming we cheated him. We are innocent and have proof. He even got his father to give a false statement against us. However, the case was dismissed because a crucial witness, a police officer, didn’t appear in court. I have evidence that I never cheated him, financially or emotionally. It seems he filed this case out of revenge after I filed for domestic violence. While I haven’t taken any action against his family, he’s targeting mine. Now that the 420 case is dismissed, what steps should I take? We are Hindus.

As the 420 case is dismissed, you can consider filing a counter-complaint against your husband for false accusation and malicious prosecution under sections 182 and 211 of the IPC. You can also seek legal recourse for the false statement given by his father, including a defamation suit. Additionally, you can approach the police regarding his harassment and targeting of your family.
