My husband and I were married in a Hindu ceremony back in 2008. Now, in 2014, he’s claiming he’s married another woman, a Muslim, and they have a child together. He says he’s converted to Islam. What legal options do I have? What are my rights in this situation?

Under Indian law, your Hindu marriage is valid and your husband’s subsequent marriage to another woman is illegal. You have the right to file for divorce on grounds of bigamy, and you can also seek maintenance and alimony. You can approach a family court for redressal of your grievances.
