My girlfriend, a Hindu girl, left for her parents’ place after a fight. Now, her family wants us to reconcile and are pressuring me to stay together. She’s even threatened suicide if I don’t. Everyone’s telling me to give it another shot, saying it’s a normal part of marriage. I’m considering it, but I want a written guarantee from her parents that they’ll stand by me if she does anything wrong in the future.

Indian law does not allow for such agreements. Your girlfriend’s threats of suicide are serious and you should encourage her to seek professional help. It’s important to remember that marriage is a partnership, not a business deal, and should be based on mutual respect and love, not coercion or fear.
