My divorce case was filed back in 2011. The evidence was presented in 2012, and the arguments were finished that same year. The judge set a date for the decision, but then got transferred right before it. My lawyer doesn’t always seem to have my best interests at heart, and he charges me for every court appearance. Now he says a new judge will be taking over in a month, and everything might have to start over. What are my chances of getting a decision with a new judge?

Indian law allows for transfer of pending cases to a new judge. While a new judge may require a review of the case, they are bound by the evidence already presented. You can discuss your concerns with your lawyer and consider seeking a second opinion from another lawyer to understand your options and potential outcomes.
