You can file for divorce after 1 year of marriage in India, but a mutual divorce requires both parties’ consent and agreement on all terms, including alimony. Since your income is low, alimony will likely be determined by the court based on your wife’s needs and financial situation. It’s advisable to consult a lawyer to understand your specific legal options and potential alimony obligations.
