I’m a Hindu woman and have been living separately from my husband for the past two years. He refuses to take me back, and even though we filed for a mutual consent divorce, I withdrew my consent. The case was dismissed. Can I file a dowry case against him now? His sister took all my jewelry just two days after our wedding. We were both under immense mental stress and didn’t even read the divorce papers properly before signing them. My father also faced severe stress during this time. He spent 15 lakhs for the wedding and has only returned 7 lakhs he borrowed in cash. I’m confused and need guidance. My husband hasn’t provided any financial support for the past two years, but I have been working in a government job for the past year.
