I got married twice in a temple, the second marriage right after my divorce, but before the final divorce decree. I didn’t register the second marriage, only mentioning it to my lawyer. I mistakenly declared myself single on the temple papers. Could this cause problems with my marriage? I remarried the same person again in a temple with a different lawyer and this time I mentioned my divorce status on the documents. Did I make a mistake? I want to register my marriage now.

Your second marriage, performed before the final divorce decree, is likely void under Indian law. The subsequent temple ceremony with your divorce status mentioned, though valid, will not retroactively validate the earlier ceremony. Registering your current marriage is advisable, but it might be necessary to address the issue of the prior void marriage.
