I filed a complaint with the Kannur Police in June 2016 about a group of people who promised my son a job visa but instead took a large sum of money and disappeared. I transferred the money into their bank account as instructed. The police are investigating, but I’m concerned about the slow progress. The investigating officer has the details of the bank account, but no arrests have been made. I’ve repeatedly contacted the officer, but he seems to be dragging his feet.

The police are obligated to investigate your complaint diligently, and you have a right to seek updates on the progress. If you feel the officer is not acting promptly, you can escalate your concerns to his superiors or file a complaint with the Superintendent of Police or even the Kerala High Court.
