A fellow student from another campus, whom I’d never met, made a comment on Facebook. I responded with sarcasm, using a rude word. He then started abusing me, so I continued my sarcastic banter, jokingly suggesting he pay my canteen bills, since his campus doesn’t have a grand inauguration like ours. He retaliated with a lengthy and racist comment. Despite his continued abuse, I turned off my notifications. Now he’s filed a case against me in the Supreme Court near his hometown. I need to move it to Madras High Court, as it’s my hometown and I’m a 20-year-old student with limited funds. Facing the Supreme Court would be a huge financial burden.

While it’s difficult to offer legal advice without full context, you can likely file a transfer petition to the Madras High Court citing your residence, limited resources, and the convenience of the local court. The High Court will consider your petition and the merits of the case in deciding the transfer.
