My old Activa scooter was stolen a few weeks ago and has now been found. The police say I need to go through court procedures to get it back. However, the scooter was already in bad shape, and the recovery costs are more than what I could sell it for now. Is it okay if I don’t want to claim it back, or am I required to recover it? I’m looking for guidance on what my options are in this situation.

You are not legally required to claim your stolen scooter back. However, you should inform the police of your decision in writing. They will then dispose of the recovered scooter according to legal procedures. You can choose not to claim it back if the recovery costs outweigh the scooter’s value.
