My neighbour, who runs a shop next door, wants me to adjust my CCTV camera so that the area in front of his shop isn’t captured. Is he justified in making this request?

Under Indian law, you have the right to install CCTV cameras on your property for security purposes. Your neighbour doesn’t have the right to dictate the placement or angle of your camera, even if it captures part of their shop. However, you might consider adjusting the camera if it’s causing unreasonable privacy concerns, but this is a matter of mutual respect, not legal obligation.
