My husband’s family is facing charges under Section 498A of the IPC and the Domestic Violence Act in Jaipur. Some crucial evidence, which was being held by a government office in another state, has been destroyed by criminals. Can I file a police complaint against these criminals in the police station where they live? Furthermore, these criminals have a history of violence and I fear for my safety, especially since I’m away from my hometown. Can I lodge a complaint against them even though I don’t have any specific case number yet?
