My father, who sadly passed away recently, owned a car that’s been held at the police station in Bidar for the past three years. The car was seized under the NDPS Act. Is there any way to get the car released without having to take my father’s name to court? I’m in a tough spot, and any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Under the NDPS Act, the car can be released if it is proven that it wasn’t used in the commission of the offense. You can apply for its release in your own name by providing evidence that you are the legal heir and the car was not used for illegal activities. However, the court may require you to submit your father’s name in the application.
