I’m an eyewitness in a case going to court, and the police officer keeps calling me for every single hearing, even though there were about 5 other witnesses. It’s becoming a big hassle for me. Is there anything I can do about this?

Indian law does not explicitly require all witnesses to attend every hearing. You can politely inform the officer about the inconvenience and request to be summoned only when your testimony is necessary. If the officer insists, you can consult a lawyer to explore options for minimizing your attendance, such as submitting a written statement or attending a specific hearing for your testimony.
